Ana-Maria Pitis

Spending fourteen years in the heart of Romania, where my passion for creativity developed I decided to take a step further and study in the well know country for fashion, the United Kingdom.  While studying and developing my skills I entered a range of competitions and I was a finalist in numerous competitions such as ‘The National Dressmaking award’ and more recently I took part in the Fashion Fiesta Show and Kaleidoscope to help raise money for numerous charities. I strive to be innovative and use unconventional materials, finishes and up to date technology in my garments. I find my inspiration in science related subjects and concepts such as evolution, natural sciences and technology, I am intrigued by avant-garde and the performance concept.
Alongside my conceptual work, I also feel very strongly about environmental issues that we are faced to deal with. I am eager to help out and contribute to minimise fast fashion and its social and environmental impacts. I am also trying to implicate myself and promote the importance of recycling and try to communicate the serious effects of plastic.
